Parliamentarism is a political regime made up of representatives elected by citizens, usually in democratic regimes where state representatives are accountable to parliament, which, through them, directs the government and enforces the country's constitution. In some countries it is formed by the so-called House of Parliament, divided into two parts (such as House of Lords and House of Commons, in the English case), whose formation may result from elections or nominations, and have different powers depending on each country. In the case of Brazil, there is the National Congress, divided between the Chamber of Deputies and Senate.
